The issue

While it is well-recognised that sexual harassment occurs in the construction and infrastructure sectors, there is little around the actions that bystanders can take to reduce these behaviours with a te ao Māori lens.

Intended outcomes

  • A Theory of Change, grounded in te ao Māori, which will be available for organisations to implement
  • A series of recommended changes or improvements to employer policy settings
  • Bystander training recommendations.

The steps

  • Step 1: Literature review – March 2024
  • Step 2: Data gathering – questionnaire and series of focus groups – April 2024
  • Step 3: Draft Theory of Change – June 2024
