Women’s Advisory Group
We are thrilled to introduce our ConCOVE Women’s Advisory Group members. These wahine toa will ensure we are listening to, and staying ahead, of the concerns and ideas within the female community as we embark on our five key projects, and that the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are implemented.
Recognising the need for a women-centric approach to vocational education and career development and the priority requirement for Women learners in the Construction and Infrastructure trades, the Women’s Advisory Group will support ConCOVE to develop strategies that deliver our goals in creating a supported learning and working environment for Women. They will also provide advice on a strategy and work stream for Women, the need for leadership, strong sector engagement, supporting capability and enabling the Construction and Infrastructure sector to successfully drive female engagement.
Together, we recognise the need for a women-centric approach to vocational education and career development in the Construction and Infrastructure sector; and that a supported environment is required to promote Woman entering and progressing, retaining their participation and achieving equitable outcomes. Our aim is to grow and strengthen the industries’ workforces by increasing diversity, particularly in relation to Women in hands-on roles, through tailored value add propositions and training packages.
