Webinar: Good Practice Guides for Skill Standards
Introduces Good Practice Guides for Skill Standards
As skill standards replace unit standards in New Zealand’s vocational education system, ConCOVE Tūhura, with support from Waihanga Ara Rau, Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council, has released the Good Practice Guides for Skill Standards—a key resource to help providers, Workforce Development Councils (WDCs), and industry navigate this transition.
With the first skill standards published in early 2024, these guides arrive at a crucial time. The Good Practice Guides serve as a comprehensive toolkit for those involved in standard-setting, qualification development, programme delivery, assessment, and moderation.
Here’s what you can learn:
- Why understanding Skill Standards is essential – how they impact qualifications and assessment.
- The importance of the Good Practice Guides – why it was developed and how it supports good practice.
- What the Good Practice Guides cover and why they can be trusted – insights from research and sector collaboration.
- How to use them effectively – practical steps to integrate them into your work.
