Where is the front door? 
An investigation of the workforce entry points into the construction and infrastructure sectors

The aim of this research is to better understand the multiple entry points into the construction and infrastructure sectors, and their effectiveness at attracting and retaining people into careers in these sectors.

In this sense, it is exploratory in nature, rather than aiming to solve a specific problem at this stage. In this work, we have looked to answer the following research questions:

• Where are the entry points into the construction and infrastructure sectors?
• What initiatives are in place to support entry?
• Are these initiatives effective at supporting people into work?

We then aim to identify opportunities to promote existing initiatives or create new ones, and to identify where further research efforts should be prioritised.
