Katherine Hall
Executive Director
Tēnā koutou, tālofa lava, malo e leilei, bula vinaka, kia orana, hello.
I joined the ConCOVE Tūhura in May 2022 after two years with the Construction Sector Accord at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. At the Accord, I led the People Development workstream and its five initiatives, including building a Construction Diversity Roadmap and skills strategy. I hold a Master’s in Technological Futures via Tech Futures Lab and have spent time studying design thinking at Stanford University.
I’m no stranger to vocational education and have worked for two major industry training organisations before the Reform of Vocational Education. I have also worked in industry and still declare my safety boots to be a comfiest footwear I own.
My tenure in the sector isn’t as long as many, but I think that 11 years is a long time to be hearing the same conversations about how we can improve the industries we’re passionate about. Eleven years is too long for the record to be stuck. I have seen some truly significant achievements and industry programmes that do go a long way to supporting and growing people – in pockets of industry. Now we need to harness those exceptional programmes and share or scale them, for all.
At ConCOVE, we have a real opportunity to connect and align industry and education and support the development of real pathways, career opportunities and futures for the people within construction and infrastructure, now and into the future.
I am always up for a conversation, and you can connect with me by email, phone or via LinkedIn.
