The Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) is a new initiative funded by the Government for the Construction and Infrastructure Industries. This brand-new organisation has been tasked by TEC (Tertiary Education Commission) to engage with the NZ Construction & Infrastructure sector to understand their workforce needs. Based at MIT’s new custom built trades training school, Tech Park, the successful applicants will be integral and instrumental to the direction of vocational education within the Construction and Infrastructure Industries researching and recommending vocational education tools and training to meet the sectors workforce needs. To deliver this innovative mandate ConCOVE’s General Manager is seeking a Project Lead to champion the Diversity portfolio. The outcomes from their findings will support an overarching Career Framework for the Construction and Infrastructure Industries which will be used to map different job types, and vocational pathways and what intervention and strategies should be part of this innovative framework.
The Project Lead Diversity is vital to the success of ConCOVE leading research programmes and partnering with key stakeholders such as representatives from the NZ Construction and Infrastructure sector, education, iwi and pasifika representatives. This role would suit an experienced project lead with a passion for the Construction and Infrastructure sector, who is well networked, and may have Te Reo Māori and Tikanga Māori and an understanding of Pasifika cultures, and philosophies.

If you are innovative, strategic, emotionally intelligent, hands -on and can bring a multi-cultural lens to the project you will enjoy this stimulating, groundbreaking role.
