Graham has worked in the construction industry for 35 years, the last 20 years specialising in scaffolding. He is an advanced scaffolder and built a successful Wellington scaffolding business, WorkZone Scaffolds. He sold his business in 2015 and it continues to operate successfully today under new ownership. When running his scaffold business, Graham was heavily involved in the broader construction industry. That involvement continues today as Graham supports and advises clients throughout New Zealand.
Graham’s involvement in the sector includes the following: Member Construction Sector Accord Steering Group and Co-Lead of the ‘Developing People’ workstream; Chair of NZ Construction Industry Council; Vice (and Immediate Past) President of NZ Specialist Trade Contractors Federation; Trustee (Board Member) Construction Health & Safety NZ (CHASNZ); Member of Interim Establishment Board of Construction and Infrastructure WDC; Member of Building Advisory Panel; Member of Building Research Advisory Council; Committee Member of NZ Temporary works Forum; Life Member (and ex-President and CEO) Scaffolding Access and Rigging NZ.
Graham is passionate about the construction industry’s future and is committed to leading further change. He is adamant the way forward for the construction sector and businesses is to move the emphasis from bottom price to value, safety and quality.
